Probiotics are amazing

I did a lot of research on the probiotics and there looks like there is something to it. I was trying to find the one called Florastor but would have to go online to get it. I was looking for something locally that I could get right away and found Digestive Advantage Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It' s supposed to be in several stores like Safeway and Riteaid. Found it at Riteaid and gave it to my son. Within 24 hours, it was like night and day. He said his pain is totally gone. I was amazed! It reinfects the gut with lactobacillus bacteria, supposedly the good stuff and I just can't believe it's working. We haven't tried to put him on normal food. Want to give it a day or two to work. I have my fingers crossed and I thank everyone for their prayers!

Wow - put a problem in front of you and you attack it head on! Glad you seem to be having some success. Try not to be discouraged by the ups and downs - it is the nature of the beast.
Probably the best I felt in my life (gastrointestinally) was when I religiously took metamucil every night. It's not just for constipation like people think and for me it just smoothed everything out when I wasn't eating right. But I started that when I was older than your son and I wasn't ever in the position of having my insides as irritated as his are now.

Wish you continued good luck - sounds like you will find out what works for your son. Just remember it is a forever thing, but it will probably never be as bad as it is now, again, once you find out what is best for him.

I have no doubt your son will be able to move on from this point to be a happy and healthy kid - pretty lucky to have a mother as tenacious and caring as she is!

bettejo,

My son is now laughing and happy, such a change from a day ago and it's wonderful. Thank you so much for your support. That has meant a lot to me. You gave me the idea to look at the probiotics in the first place and it is working! I am very grateful and appreciate it very much.

I am so glad you have found something that is working! Your family will continue to be in our prayers that it will continue to work and that you and your son can get on with living.

Hugs for both of you!

It's an awful thing for an adult, but for a kid I think it's worse. It tends to be embarrassing. So working this hard on getting a handle on it now will make these important teen years much easier. Glad I could help, really!
